The Foreign Area Officer Association of Monterey is a professional organization comprised mainly of students from all U.S. services attending the Naval Postgraduate School or the Defence Language Institute. The organization aims to serve as a nexus for FAOs, RAOs, RAS, PAS and others who have an interest in politico-military affairs.
We hold monthly meetings, host guest speakers, coordinate visits from branch career advisors and assignment teams. Our network provides the opportunity for officers to learn from each other and establish professional relationships for future joint operations. Prospective, new and seasoned FAOs are all welcome to join and collaborate.
